Today I spent a good portion of the day creating a home for my steel rule die cuts.
While to most people this would not be a big deal -- for me it was.
I am happy that I finally have a system of organization that will allow me to use what I have and still have room for growth. (HINT - I am planning to use some of the gift certificates I got from Christmas on some new goodies at Right at Home Scrapbooking and Bella Art -- TWO amazing local scrapbook and stamping supply stores)
I also spent some time cleaning off the third desk in my scrapbook space (The discussion of whether or not to call it a studio can be addressed later) for my daughters. They are desperate to create stuff with me. Right now, I am just so overwhelmed by the mess that is there. Instead of just making a bigger mess and rushing the process, I created a space in my lap and in the middle of project I was working on. She was happy and so was I. See, I can make this work work.
Tonight, while I should have been cleaning up more, I let it go and scrapbooked. I used the Aurora Kit from the Page of the Month Club from Basic Grey. The subscroptton I have is through Fotobella. They are am AMAZING website with great deals on supplies and offer some of the best customer service I have ever encourtered in my life. Seriously, these ladies are awesome. Check them out.

Aurora is a beautiful kit and the colors are great. Deep, almost navy blues, lavenders, purples, teals and pops of pinks and white to balance it. The theme is definitely celestrial, but not over-powering.
The page I worked on tonight was of my daughters at the Winter Wonderland light display at the hotel we stayed at before Christmas. (If you are ever in the Cape Cod area of Massachusstts, I would recommend the Cape Codder. We went for a pre-Christmas getaway. It was great. The hotel offered cookie decorating, a visit to Santa Claus, a brief ballet production of Coppelia and an outdoor light display. It was alot of fun. I think my favorite was the barber shop quartet Christmas caroling in the lobby. There were alot of people there, but never felt to overwhelming. Highlight for me was Santa -- he was a stunning and a great sport! The kids really enjoyed the indoor wave pool -- which is the BIG feature. I would skip Hearth and Kettle food, but get the kettle chip for a snack, AMAZING!) Check them out too.. http://www.capecodderresort.com/
I changed things a big, since I wanted to make it wintery - not starry. I managed to use up some really old embellishments. Something that thrills me. Creates room for me but something new to play with.

Day 1 - Creating this Blog
So, 2015 is upon us. I am usually pretty excited about the NEW-ness of a new year.
I have so much to be excited about this year - a HUGE family vacation in July, hopefully going back to work (been out of work since September due to a foot injury) and just getting myself and my life on track.
This, I hope, is going to be the year that I CREATE a place for myself to be happy in.
I have struggled with happiness for so long -- just looking for a space that I fit. I am tired, exhausted and still looking. So, this year, with 42 years of experience, I have decided -- I am done with that!
I am going to CREATE my space and find try navigating that course for a while.
Let's see what I can find.
My goal is to do something creative each and every day. Spend time, long or short, but some, in the quiet of basement, and create something that speaks to me. Once I get comfortable, I can share the space with others, but for now, I am focusing on myself and CREATING what it is that in ME that makes me Happy.
Tonight, I am going to call this BLOG, my dairy of my journey, my first Creation.
